Following on from Hidden Homes of Tuscany and Umbria, this book is a glorious visit to one of the most dramatic and fascinating parts of Italy, from Puglia to Sicily via the Amalfi Coast. The southern regions of Italy are known locally as the Mezzogiorno due to the intensity of the midday sun, but it is not only the climate that draws in 17 million visitors every year. The dramatic coastal and mountain scenery, the centuries of enthralling history and the vibrant culture all combine to make southern Italy one of the most desirable destinations for travellers from all over the world. In this book, interiors writer Marta Galli, a frequent contributor to AD Italia, ventures off the beaten track to explore 12 truly remarkable and inspiring homes: ancient palazzos, rustic farmhouses and villas overlooking the Mediterranean. Original photography by Mike Karlsson Lundgren brings each of these unique homes to life. Marta reveals their untold stories and gleans valuable insights into their design and decoration, which are sure to inspire readers to bring a hint of the Mezzogiorno into their own homes.
