"Choose a Gentle, Winding Path"

Each of us is an individual, a person possessed of autonomy and, using Immanuel Kant's Enlightenment definitions, deserving of Freedom and Dignity. Each of us is also a part of the whole - actually many wholes: family, community, society, and the planet Earth. As such, we have both rights and obligations. This essay offers my reflections on those rights and obligations.

Marty Price: I am a poet and a retired Literature Instructor, long employed as the latter by Mississippi State University. My poetry and ghost stories can be found in a few self-published books and on Facebook, as I choose to publish a light poem each day. My background in philosophy reaches to my undergraduate days, almost fifty years ago - I claim it has allowed me to do enough thinking to offer this personal essay, nothing more.
