Pedro Luis Gómez es licenciado en Ciencias de la Información (Periodismo) por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y una de las figuras más destacadas del periodismo andaluz. Ha desarrollado la mayor parte de su trayectoria profesional en el diario SUR (Vocento), donde durante más de cuarenta años ha ocupado puestos de máxima responsabilidad. Cofundador de la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Málaga y profesor honorario de la institución, fue también corresponsal de El País en Málaga. Especialista en turismo y en la historia de la Semana Santa andaluza, es el único periodista europeo que ha asistido de forma ininterrumpida durante más de cuatro décadas a las principales ferias internacionales del sector. Autor de numerosos libros --entre ellos varios dedicados a Pablo Ruiz Picasso y su vínculo con Málaga--, compagina su labor como columnista con la dirección y presentación del programa La sal de la Tierra. Conversaciones desde Andalucía, en Canal Sur Radio. A lo largo de su carrera ha recibido algunos de los más importantes reconocimientos del ámbito periodístico, como el Premio Andalucía de Periodismo y el Premio Ciudad de Málaga.
