Portrait

Avijit Roy is a State Aided College Teacher, Department of Geography at Malda College, India. He teaches Population Geography, Gender Studies, Regional Planning, Urban Geography, Social and Cultural Geography. He holds a PhD in Geography from University of Gour Banga. His current research interests are women's sexual, reproductive, maternal & newborn health, maternal morbidity & mortality, geriatrics, healthcare services, child marriage, violence against women, spatial analysis. He has recently published 2 books jointly from Springer Nature. His work in the global health arena has focused on women's health care and reduce maternal morbidity. Margubur Rahaman is a health geographer with 6+ years of research experience, serving as a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Migration and Urban Studies, IIPS, India. He holds an MPhil in Population Studies and dual Master's degrees in Geography and Population Studies. His recent doctoral work on maternal health among homeless women, explored the complex interplay between environment, homelessness, and reproductive health. Currently, working as Project Research Scientist II, Department of Community and Family Medicine, AIIMS Gorakhpur, India. He specializes in sexual and reproductive health, migration, and climate and public health-and has published several research articles and book chapters. He serves as an editorial board member of BMC Public Health and Academic Editor of PLOS One. Pradip Chouhan is a professor at the Department of Geography, University of Gour Banga, India. And former assistant professor, Jadavpur University. His research focuses on fertility behavior, public, maternal & child health, with nearly 2 decades of active teaching and research experience. He has published 50+ research papers in Scopus- and Web of Science-indexed journals, edited 3 books and authored 1 book. He's an academic editor of PLOS One and the Scientific Reports Journal. He has completed 4 research projects funded by the ICSSR (02), DST (01) and UGC (01). He has successfully supervised 7 PhD and 8 MPhil scholars. Kailash Chandra Das is a demographer and social geographer with a PhD in Population Study from IIPS, India. Currently, he is a professor and head in the department of migration and urban studies at IIPS. With 26+ years of teaching and research experience, he has completed 30+ research projects and guided 40 PhD/ MPhil research scholars. He has published 60+ research papers and has written 4 books. He is the convener of the South Asian Centre for Labour Mobility and Migrants (SALAM). He has visited 25+ countries for conference, seminar, meeting and other academic assignments. Nanigopal Kapasia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Malda College, India. He holds a PhD degree from University of North Bengal. His research interests include social and cultural geography, Public Health, Maternity Care Services and Emerging Challenges in women's health. He has published 20+ research articles in reputed national and international journals. Jayanta Das is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, University of Burdwan, India. He holds a PhD degree from University of North Bengal. His research interests include agricultural & hydrological modeling, climate change, watershed & sustainable management, drought & geospatial data analysis, data mining, and GIS applications. With 15+ academic years of experience, he has published 50+ scholarly articles. He has also published 3 edited books with Springer Nature. He was as an editor for the Journal of Water and a guest editor for Environmental Science and Pollution Research, published by Springer. He has led international seminars and received awards for his research contributions.
