Mago Menor / Minor Wizard

Oliver era un insignificante mago menor. Sólo conocía tres hechizos: uno de ellos no servía más que para controlar su alergia a la caspa de armadillo y otro para atar los cordones de los zapatos. Aunque sólo tenía 12 años, era el único mago de una aldea en la que hacía mucho tiempo que no llovía. Por eso, Oliver y su armadillo son enviados con la misión de traer de vuelta la lluvia. Armado con sus tres hechizos, nuestro héroe no tiene la menor idea de lo que le espera. Oliver era un insignificante mago menor. Por desgracia, era la única opción que tenían.

«Cuando la bondad provenía de fantasmas asesinados y cerdos extraviados, y los adultos que se suponía que debían ayudarle eran monstruos que bien podían hacerse pasar por hombres... -qué debía hacer él? Nada de eso estaba bien. Cuánto le gustaría que el mundo fuera diferente'.

Oliver was a puny little wizard. He only knew three spells: one of them was good for nothing more than controlling his armadillo dandruff allergy and another for tying his shoelaces. Although he was only 12 years old, he was the only wizard in a village that hadn't seen rain in a long time. So Oliver and his armadillo are sent on a mission to bring back the rain. Armed with his three spells, our hero has no idea what awaits him. Oliver was a puny little wizard. Unfortunately, it was the only option they had.

"When kindness came from murdered ghosts and stray pigs, and the adults who were supposed to help him were monsters who could pass for men... what was he to do? None of it was right. How he wished the world were different."

T. Kingfisher es el seudónimo ligeramente absurdo de la escritora Ursula Vernon que, en su otra vida, escribe libros para niños y cómics extravagantes. Ha ganado toda clase de premios literarios que la reconocen como una de las escritoras más talentosas de la fantasía actual (Hugo, Sequoyah, Nebula, Alfie, WSFA, Cóyotl, Ursa Major...) y también ha sido nominada a los premios World Fantasy y al Will Eisner Comic Industry. T. Kingfisher es el nombre que usa cuando escribe libros para jóvenes de mayor edad y también para adultos. Su obra lleva los cuentos de hadas y duendes a otro nivel. Cuando no está escribiendo, es probable que la encuentres en el jardín, tratando de mantener el contacto visual con las mariposas. T. Kingfisher is the slightly absurd pseudonym of the writer Ursula Vernon who, in her other life, writes children's books and quirky comics. She has won all kinds of literary awards that recognize her as one of the most talented writers of current fantasy (Hugo, Sequoyah, Nebula, Alfie, WSFA, Cóyotl, Ursa Major...) and has also been nominated for the World Fantasy Awards and the Will Eisner Comic Industry. T. Kingfisher is the name she uses when she writes books for older teens and also for adults. Her work takes fairy tales and elves to another level. When she's not writing, you can probably find her in the garden, trying to keep eye contact with the butterflies.
