This book provides concepts and experimental demonstrations for various types of MLD and organic multiple quantum dots (Organic MQDs), which is a typical tailored organic thin-film material. Possible applications of MLD to optical interconnects, energy conversion systems, molecular targeted drug delivery, and cancer therapy are proposed.
Tetsuzo Yoshimura was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1951, and graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Aoyama High School in 1970. He received the B.Sc. degree in Physics from Tohoku University in 1974, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from Kyoto University in 1976 and 1985, respectively. From 2001 to 2017, he was a professor at Tokyo University of Technology, where he extended the research on MLD-based nanotechnologies and SOLNET-based optoelectronics for optical interconnects, solar energy conversion systems, and cancer therapy. He is currently a professor emeritus at Tokyo University of Technology, a scientific writer, and a musician in a rock group, the TYNC.
