Carola Hein is Professor and Head of the History of Architecture and Urban Planning Chair at TU Delft, the Netherlands. She is the author and editor of several books, including the editor of Port Cities: Dynamic Landscapes and Global Networks, contributor to Reflections on Urban, Regional and National Space by Nishiyama Uz-, and co-editor of Cities, Autonomy and Decentralization in Japan. She serves on the boards of the International Planning History Society, the Society for American City and Regional Planning History, and the Urban History Association. She is a member of the editorial boards of Planning Perspectives and the Journal of Urban History.
