Imagine discovering you could step into someone else's mind and even more than that. Who would you choose? What would you do? For fourteen-year-old Mick, what begins as a terrifying hallucination turns out to be a doorway to a power he never asked for and doesn't understand. One moment, he's running from bullies and a dog. The next, he wakes up across the street... in someone else's body. This is the first chapter in the Mindwalker series a psychological sci-fi story about control, identity, and the cost of seeing the world through someone else's eyes. The Mindwalker: First Transfer captures the moment an awkward boy takes his first step into a journey that will change everything. A new chapter will be released every Sunday.
Instead of giving you a traditional biography, I'd like to share the childhood memory that sparked the idea for The Mindwalker. The idea came to me when I was just five or six years old. It was shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and my family lived in what is now Ukraine. Times were hard, and every summer my parents would send me and my sister to stay with our grandmother in the city of Kerch. We spent our days climbing cherry trees in her garden one with red fruit, the other with yellow. In between games, we'd run into the house. Life was simple, possessions were few, and entertainment was even fewer. We'd press the button on the TV (there were no remotes back then) and flip through two or three available channels. During the day, it was usually just test patterns or ballet. Ballet didn't interest us much, but it was the only thing on, so we watched it. One day, I remember watching a dancer on stage and thinking: What if I suddenly became him? Would I be able to continue his steps without knowing the choreography? Or would I run off the stage, confused? That childhood thought stayed with me for years. And after watching yet another superhero movie many years later, I realized I wanted to tell the story of someone with the power to shift into other people's minds. That's how this book was born. I wrote it about five years ago, but due to the war in Ukraine and other life events, I only recently decided to publish it. And now, I'm finally ready to share it.
