Katz offers evidence-based guidance for the partner, who is challenged in different ways to support the man as he moves from diagnosis to treatment decision making and beyond. She carefully describes the treatment options along with the side effects that affect quality of life and couple satisfaction. Additional topics include cancer recurrence and end of life care. The book ends with a chapter on selfcare and the need to put on your own oxygen mask before you support your partner. The first edition of the book received the Consumer Book Award from the prestigious Society for Sex Therapy & Research in 2015. The second edition is completely new and updated.

ANNE KATZ is the sexuality counselor at CancerCare Manitoba and an adjunct professor at the University of Manitoba. She is an active member of The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric & Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). Dr Katz is the editor of Nursing for Women's Health and writes a column called Sexually Speaking in the American Journal of Nursing. She is the author of the award-winning textbook Breaking the Silence on Cancer and Sexuality as well as Woman Cancer Sex. Katz has given lectures across North America on the topic of sexuality and illness.
