Un secreto fue soltado de sopetón por la abuela de Ligia: tu trastarabuelo fue un alto jerarca de la Iglesia que embarazó a una joven Josefa, tu trastarabuela. El escándalo fue tal, que Josefa tuvo que mudarse de España a Nicaragua. El rumor fue en extremo doloroso para una familia con una honda raigambre católica. La verdad no pudo hablarse abiertamente por temor a Dios, hasta que Ligia tomó a esa bestia de rumores y la transformó en una obra de ficción. Ligia Urroz Argüello (Nicaragua, c.1968) es escritora y economista nicaragüense-mexicana. Formada en el ITAM y la London School of Economics, pasó del ámbito financiero a la literatura. Es autora de Somoza (2021), autoficción marcada por su infancia cercana al dictador Somoza; La Muralla (2009, 2017), sobre migración y pérdida de patria; y Por mi gran culpa (2025), que aborda abuso eclesiástico y exilio. Ligia Urroz Argüello (Nicaragua, c.1968) is a Nicaraguan-Mexican writer and economist. Educated at ITAM and the London School of Economics, she moved from finance to literature. She is the author of Somoza (2021), autofiction shaped by her childhood near dictator Somoza; La Muralla (2009, 2017), on migration and loss of homeland; and Por mi gran culpa (2025), addressing ecclesiastical abuse and exile.
