Raros

Raros es un libro álbum silente que, de manera sencilla y entrañable, celebra las diferencias frente a los ojos de los lectores más pequeños, que encontrarán en cada personaje un mundo propio, una historia detrás aún no contada, un alma individual, distinta de cualquier otra. Poco a poco, las páginas se van poblando de personajes un poco extraños. De cada lado de la página diferentes personas se acercan para observarse y darse cuenta de que los del otro lado (de la página) son muy raros. Al principio hay cierto recelo, temor y rechazo, pero pronto se dan cuenta de que en el fondo todos son iguales, y en un estallido de risas se hermanan para seguir su camino. Una invitación sutil y profunda a abrazar la otredad. Raros is a silent picture book that, in a simple and endearing way, celebrates differences before the eyes of the youngest readers, who will find in each character a world of their own, a story yet untold, an individual soul, unlike any other. Little by little, the pages are populated by slightly strange characters. On each side of the page, different people approach each other to observe each other and realize that those on the other side (of the page) are very strange. At first, there is a certain suspicion, fear, and rejection, but they soon realize that deep down they are all the same, and in a burst of laughter, they unite to continue on their path. A subtle and profound invitation to embrace otherness.

Valeria Gallo es una ilustradora y autora mexicana. Estudió Diseño en el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. Ha publicado más de 40 títulos con una docena de editoriales latinoamericanas, que le han valido diversos premios nacionales e internacionales. Ha participado en exposiciones colectivas e individuales en México, Colombia y España. Formó parte del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte del FONCA de 2018 a 2020. Actualmente, imparte clases de narrativa gráfica e ilustración en la Facultad de Arte y Diseño de la UNAM.

Valeria Gallo is a Mexican illustrator and author. She studied design at the National Institute of Fine Arts. She has published more than 40 titles with a dozen Latin American publishers, earning her various national and international awards. She has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Mexico, Colombia, and Spain. She was part of the National System of Art Creators of FONCA from 2018 to 2020. She currently teaches graphic narrative and illustration at the Faculty of Art and Design of the UNAM.
