This volume brings together leading international scholars to examine ways in which representations of sports coaching in narrative and documentary cinema can shape and inform sporting instruction. Katharina Bonzel is a Visiting Fellow in Screen Studies at the Australian National University, Australia, and is currently writing a book about the representation of national identity in sports films. Nicholas Chare is Associate Professor of Modern Art in the Department of History of Art and Film Studies at the Université de Montréal, Canada. He is the author of Sportswomen in Cinema: Film and the Frailty Myth (2015).
